What do you love about ministry at SRP Church?

I love the potential that our church holds for an incredible future of serving the Kingdom of God.  I love our mission to, “Continue Christ’s mission of Loving All people, Helping them discover Hope and Find Purpose and Direction in their lives.”

What is your favorite season and why?

Fall.  I love watching college football, especially Auburn!  War Eagle!  But I also love moving into the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas!  There are just so many things to love about this time of year!

What inspires you?

Nothing inspires me more than seeing life change in people who are broken and hurting!  It thrills me when I see the light come on in someone’s heart and mind that they are forgiven and loved by God!

What book has had a big impact on you?

Being a pastor/teacher I know I’m supposed to say the Bible!  And it has!  But I want to mention a couple that just happen to be fictional.  The Shack by William Paul Young had a profound impact on my life at a troubling time in my life.  The other one is actually a fictional trilogy of books titled, The Mark of the Lion by Francine Rivers.  This work is staged in the generation following Christ’s time on the earth.  Though fiction, I believe it is a pretty accurate depiction of life among the early followers of Christ.

My senior year of college I went on a mission trip to Cuba with an ensemble that I was a part of for 4 years. I had such an amazing experience leading worship in Spanish and working with some crazy talented musicians!

Europe, because I’ve never had to opportunity to go.

Favorite TV shows? (Or Favorite TV series?)

The Office, because it’s the greatest thing to happen to T.V.

One of my favorite movies is Defiance.
This movie does a good job of telling the story of the Jews that survived the Holocaust by living in the woods for over a year. Very inspiring film.

What is your favorite snack?

I love grapes. I can take down an entire bag of grapes if I’m really hungry. It’s a problem.

What do you love about SRP Church?

These are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever worked with. You know how many times you have a second family away from home? I’m lucky to say that not only is this church like a second family, but there are three or four families within this church that treat me as if I was one of their own and that means so much to me living 8 hours away from my home and any blood relatives.
